Our room was cozy and surprisingly well-equipped, complete with a private bathroom and free toiletries, ensuring we had everything we needed to recharge. Bernadette, our lovely host, genuinely made us feel at home, even turning up the heating to keep the chilly night at bay. Though we arrived late and left early, the tranquillity of the retreat allowed for a peaceful night’s sleep, setting us up nicely for the road ahead. For those considering a halt along this popular route, I highly recommend Tarcutta Retreat as a hidden gem that strikes a balance between comfort and a welcoming atmosphere—definitely a memorable experience that I’d encourage fellow historical novel enthusiasts and travellers alike to explore!
